Looking for Three

Recently Lynne Hackles wrote a blog post about Three Beautiful Things.

Lynne challenged us to write about three beautiful things once in a while.

Since reading the post, I’ve been looking for – and finding – beautiful things every day. I know they are things that would have been there anyway, but I am taking time to stop and appreciate the beauty in everyday life. It’s so easy to get bogged down in the not so beautiful.

So here are three beautiful things from me for today.

Tea! Sitting in bed this morning being lazy with a cuppa and a slice of toast with grapefruit marmalade and Dusty cuddled up next to me. Such a treat.

The rain. It’s that gentle summer rain that tickles the skin and makes everywhere look lush and green.

Fruit! I made a fruit salad this morning with strawberries, grapes, kiwi, melon and blueberries. It looked so pretty and tasted so nice with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Watching my little people tuck in was a joy.

Thank you for the suggestion, Lynne. Sometimes good things get shaded out, but it’s good to notice them – and know you’ve noticed them.

And here’s a gratuitous photo of Dusty – being free to go where he chooses, but choosing to be in here with me.

  1. It's a wonderful idea isn't it, thank you Lynne, and I just love all your beautiful things, especially the last one which brought a lump to my throat. So over the moon for you that Dusty is well and strong again after all the worry. Indeed a beautiful thing :-) xx
PS am going to buy a notebook today - a beautiful one - and make sure I note three beautiful things every day. Important and so uplifting

    1. Thank you, Sue - you've given me an idea. I got a lovely notebook covered in butterflies for my birthday and have been saving it for something special. I think I'll do the same as you :-) xx

  4. What a great idea. I especially like the comment about the rain, which you can see as a depressing thing or a blessing as it makes everything so green. I think the notebook idea is something I should take up too. Nice to see Dusty in his happy place.

  5. Hi human, Teresa,

Ah yes, some tea, some rain and a bit of fruit. That sounds like the sort of things my human likes. A pawsitive focus is just the tonic, my lovely human friend.

Nice suggestion by your human friend, Lynne :)

Dusty is a clever, loving dog. Hi Dusty! Arf!

    Pawsitive wishes and doggy kisses,

    Penny xx

  8. Lovely idea, Teresa. We get so busy with life we do forget to stop, or slow down, long enough to see the beauty around us.

Glad Dusty's getting about again, but I'm sure he knows you won't mind a doggy cuddle.:-)
