On the North Face of Grumpy

It occurred to me the other day that all I ever seem to do on Twitter and Facebook is put up links to petitions or share funny/sad pictures.

But I can’t help thinking that no one would be interested to know I’d put my woolly socks on or had just released a grasshopper back into the wild (hop wild and free little green friend). Who cares that I’m off to the shops or that I stubbed my toe on the filing cabinet? I really feel I should say something, but what?

Anyway, as you can probably tell I am on the north face of Grumpy at present. I don’t know why. Perhaps it’s the end-of-summer blues.

As an apology to everyone who puts up with my petitions and a thank you to those who take the time and trouble to sign - and also to thank lovely readers of this ‘ere blog for putting up with me, I am giving away All at Sea on Kindle. It’s a compact read and was originally published as a Woman’s Weekly serial.

You can download All at Sea free for the next two days.

If you don’t own a Kindle, the program itself is free to download onto your computer, so you can take advantage of Kindle freebies – and non-freebies too if you wish.

Happy Wednesday!

  1. At least you don't complain. I've a friend who uses FB for nothing but moaning about things. There's too much complaining and moaning going on. You stay as you are, Teresa. As for me, I prefer frivolous.

  2. At last a book I'm happy to download onto my Kindle after weeks of being sent Free books I haven't see one I wanted to read. Funny enough Ivy and I was talking last night about some of the postings people put on their blogs and FB. As much as I enjoy reading about other people's lives sometimes there is a lot of rubbish. I enjoy hearing about people's good news and even their rejections if it helps them to get if off their chest and helps me understand the publishing world. I enjoy reading about other people's problems or moans if it's told with a good sense of humour.

  3. Thank you, Teresa. I'll love reading this. I'm really enjoying Portrait of Louisa at the moment as well. It's lovely to sit here reading your lovely stories while the rain pounds away on the window.
The end of summer is definitely a strange time. I think the edge between seasons is unsettling somehow. And the summer doesn't seem to have happened yet, even though it's almost over. x

  11. Thanks for All at Sea, Teresa. I've down loaded it and am looking forward to reading it. There's a change in the air with the end of summer, weather changing, nights drawing in and after the freedom of the summer holidays our lives will return to the more ordered life of term time. Makes me a bit grumpy too. But there are good things to come, kicking through fallen leaves, toasted crumpets after a long walk...

  13. Don't change a thing about your blog, Teresa. It's always an absolute tonic. You could be feeling grumpy, as it's making me, because we're still waiting for summer to start and time's running out fast - unless we get what we deserve - a marvellous Indian Summer! But I must admit I drew the curtains the other night, and put the 'glow' on the fire and it was lovely and cosy!! Good things about every season aren't there really :o) xx
