Some readers of this blog may
remember the extraordinary story of Tiger, my daughter’s beautiful tabby cat who
appeared in my garden after he’d been missing from home for a couple of days
two years ago (you can read about him here). He was only a year old at the
time.
Sadly Tiger had a heart
attack and passed away this week aged only three. There was no warning. One
minute he was fine, the next he was gone.
Needless to say the children
are distraught as are their parents. The other cats keep looking for him and I know Poppy will miss him too.
I’ve known some loving and
affectionate cats over the years, but never one quite like Tiger - he really was the sweetest soul. We are going to miss him and we still can't really believe that he's gone.
My commiserations to you all, a pet is a friend who becomes a member of the family to share their individuality with each human in a special way; perhaps Baste the Cat Goddess needed Tiger's gifts and she will now care for Tiger in her hall.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. It is nice to think he is now in the care of the Cat Goddess xx
DeleteHow sad for you all, Teresa, and what a lovely photo. You've had more than your fair share of sadness at the passing of beloved pets.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rosemary. The sadness is the price we pay for being lucky enough to have them in our lives xx
DeleteSo very sorry to hear your sad news Teresa. Thinking of you all. What wise words - the sadness is the price we pay for being lucky enough to have them in our lives. I'm sure that is something you can all cling on to at this sad time xxxx
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely Sue xx
DeleteSorry about your loss, Teresa. We lost our Brighteyes over twenty years ago. We've never had another but we still call the cupboard under the stairs the cat's room.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Keith. They always keep their places in our hearts and our homes don't they xx
DeleteAww, Teresa, big hugs for everyone. The photo of Tiger reminds me so much of our Primple who went to Rainbow Bridge 20 years ago aged 23. I'm sure she'll look out for Tiger - along with the Cat Goddess.

Sympathetic licks and gentle woofs from Tim 'n' Ted
Thank you, Pat. What a lovely name, Primple, and what a great age. And thank you Tim 'n' Ted xx
DeleteI remember reading that post, Teresa. How very sad for you all. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Frances. Tiger was the reason I got another cat after saying never again. He was just so lovely xx
DeleteThat's quite a blow, losing a beloved pet. And so young, too.
ReplyDeleteIt was so sudden and unexpected, but we are glad it happened while he was with his family and not when he was out on the razzle in which case they might never have known what happened to him xx
DeleteI'm so very sorry to read this, Teresa. How utterly devastating for you and your family. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debs xx
DeleteSo sorry to hear Tiger has passed on. Hugs to you all. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carol xx
DeleteI'm so very sorry for you and all the family, Teresa. I remember well the amazing post you wrote about Tiger turning up in your garden. This happened to a young cat of ours many years ago. He was fine when he went out one evening with no signs or symptoms at all, but returned home later in the middle of a heart attack. Our hearts go out to you all. Tiger was a beautiful cat and clearly much loved and he had a wonderful, happy life. xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you lost a young cat in that way too, Joanna, but I'm glad he made it home to you xx
DeleteSo sorry to hear this. Just heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Colette. He is very missed xx
