I was thrilled to get a
mention on Jo Derrick’s blog Jo Derrick Fiction along with Wendy Clarke. Wendy has
been extremely successful since she started writing two years ago.
Anyone involved in writing is almost certainly familiar with Jo's name. Jo was the publisher/editor of literary magazines, Quality Women's Fiction and The Yellow Room and is someone I've always admired and respected very much.
On the subject of writing for
magazines, the People’s Friend fiction editor, Shirley Blair has written
another blog about writing for the Friend. You can read it here.
I have a new assistant. He
sits at the other writer’s desk which is next to mine and tells me what to write
about.
And here’s a picture of me
hard at work… oh wait... it's Harley, my muse!
Dusty with his best friend Poppy
who he loves so much! He's nearly as big as her now.
And today he wore the dog
drying coat that his dad won for him from Dfordog. It’s amazing! So quick and
easy to put on after he’s been for a swim. It’s a little big for him at the
moment, but he hasn’t finished growing yet – I hope!
I have just popped back to say that Lynne Hackles is the Writer in Residence over at Creative Frontiers. Lynne knows more about the nuts and bolts of writing than just about anyone I know and I'm sure you'll find her daily posts interesting and helpful!
Thankyou for that post. I've added Jo to my blog list to follow. Wendy is there too. I love Dusty's coat. What a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe coat is such a good idea, Maggie - it's just one squarish piece of material, microfibre on the inside and fleece on the outside, with strong velcro on the straps so I just have to throw it over him and fasten it. There's none of this struggling to post his legs through or anything like that :-) x
DeleteYour assistant and muse look very ... wel maybe not helpful, but nice to have around I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThe assistant and the muse aren't at all helpful, Patsy and the times I've almost sat on the mews... :-) x

ReplyDeleteI love Dusty's coat and I think Harley looks like a purrfect mews... I love your writing chair too, Teresa. It looks comfortable and is a gorgeous colour too. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is quite comfy, Joanna and my favourite colour - my mews sets it off very nicely I think :-) x
DeleteGreat blog Teresa and thank you for the link to Jo's blog - you so deserved the mention. Inspiration to us all! :o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant coat and doesn't he look a Dusty Dazzler in it. (Love ...almost sat on the mews:0) Very witty!! :o) xx
Thank you, Sue :-)
DeleteDusty Dazzler - I love it :-) x
How lovely that you and Wendy have been mentioned, Teresa - and not a surprise! That wee coat looks so cute.
ReplyDeleteHe is very cuddly in it, Rosemary and it gets a lot of the wet out of his fur :-) x
DeleteYour muse looks very familiar Teresa. ;) Dusty's coat looks fab too.x
ReplyDeleteShe is very familiar, Deb :-)
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your lovely Jaunts Around Ireland blog :-) x
Well done on the mention, Teresa. I love the doggy coat!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great prize, Frances :-) x
DeleteThanks Teresa.x
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that is a fancy coat!!!
ReplyDeleteJust got to wait for him to grow into it now, Jenny :-) x
DeleteHow lovely to come back from my weekend away to read your mention... thanks Teresa. Jo was very kind to us both - I shall definitely be following her blog and hope others do too. I am trying to imagine Bonnie in that coat... she once wore a pink one with 'Wag' on it (and know I didn't buy it for her!)
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your weekend away, Wendy!
DeleteThe coat does a great job of drying his fur on the way home and it'll be useful for after baths as well. He can run round and shake all he likes and I stay dry - um I mean he gets nice and dry :-) x
Thank you so much for the mention, Teresa. Thank you, too, to those people now following me. I hope to have something interesting to blog about this week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo - I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts x
DeleteDog drying coat? Gimme Gimme! Love it :-) Just what Flossie needs. I am trying to get something done while one of my grandsons insists I play trains - help! (Maybe I will forget it for today) X
ReplyDeleteIt's a brilliant idea isn't it. I bet it would be just right for Flossie. I used to have those dog drying bags which are okay, but the poor dog can't move around in them and they used to cuddle up together looking like a pile of towels with faces!
DeleteHold on to those train playing days - I took my littlest one to playschool today and when I got home, I looked at the toys he'd normally have been playing with and came over all sad x
