August Giggle Blog!

Nooo it can’t be August already! But if it’s a new month it’s time for a Giggle Blog and if it's August then it will soon be Harley's first birthday.

Well here goes and the first giggle is brought to you by my youngest grandson who is just three:

Grandad: “I love your socks. They’re pirate socks. Are you a pirate?”

Noah:  “No! (Lifts hands up and wiggles his fingers) Because I have got two hands, see?”

The children were discussing twins and triplets. I asked them if they knew what triplets were. They did. So I asked what a set of four would be called.

Forklets and Doublets were among the suggestions.

I have got a ball flinger for flinging tennis balls. It also acts as a picker-upper so I don’t have to get sandy/muddy fingers. It’s a great little gadget, but I am getting a sore thumb from using it. I call it Ball Flingers Thumb – now try saying that a few times!

Whenever I go out and leave Dusty behind he does exactly what Tilly and Indy used to do. He captures one of my dog-walking trainers and cuddles up with it. He has perfected his sad look don’t you think?

Here's one of him looking a bit happier with his bestmatebuddypal Poppy and one of the little people who is wearing a tie-dye t-shirt she made herself.

Happy August!

  2. Terrifying that it's August already Teresa. It seems only yesterday I was turning the calendar over for July.
I WISH I'd made a note of all the things I've heard the kids say that reduced us to tears of laughter at the time.
Lovely blog - perfect start to the weekend. Ooh that Dusty - perfecting the 'poor me, I'm abandoned, what a cruel world' to perfection! :o) xx

    1. I accidentally turned my calendar over to September, Sue - that gave me a fright!
Dusty does do a very sad face - I could almost cry when I go out and he's watching out of the window! x

  3. I love these posts, Teresa. Dusty has such an expressive face. The picture with your trainer is wonderful!

And I think Forklets and Doublets are brilliant suggestions! As for that gorgeous tie-dye t-shirt, I would have sold my soul for that when I was about thirteen and made some very sorry attempts at tie-dying myself. Well done to the gorgeous little person who created it - it looks fantastic.xxx

    1. The t-shirt is a work of art with a big spiral on the front and back and she used eight different colours, Joanna. The other three did stripy patterns on theirs which are also pretty but not quite as spectacular. I have enough t-shirts and dye to make more though.
I used to tie dye t-shirts when I was a teenager, but never with results like this. So much more fun using loads of colours :-) x

  4. What a lovely post. Dusty and the trainer would surely win a photographic competition. I love the tie-die t-shirt - a great way of being creative. Oh, and happy birthday to Harley.

  5. Teresa, that dog should be on the stage. If you search his basket, you'll probably unearth an equity card!

  9. Thank you, Carol. I reckon you had your work cut out for you with triplets - I always wanted twins, but I'm sure the reality wouldn't have been as idyllic as I imagined :-) x

  12. So Noah isn't a pirate but I bet he'd enjoy you talking to him on Speak Like A Pirate Day. Actually, I don't think they do that anymore but it needn't stop us. Yo-ho-ho.

  13. That made ma smile Teresa - 3 year old Leon arrived at his cousins first birthday party dressed as a pirate. "put your sandals on," advised his mum.
"No mummy, I want to wear my boots. I am going to sail the 7 seas and I don't want to get my feet wet!" That told her :-) Great post and lovely photos. X
