June Giggle!

This month featuring two of my granddaughters.

First of all one of the 6 year olds:

“What does it say on this sweet wrapper, Grandma?”
“Eating too many of these will turn you purple.”
“Pardon?”
Grandad: “Eating too many of these will make you deaf.”
“Pardon?”
Two minutes later and in that tone of voice that makes you feel like an idiot. “I am not deaf, Grandad.”

And the 5 year old:

“Would you like to come to the beach with Dusty?”
“Yes. I will wear my pirate dress.”
“You should wear trousers.”
“But I want to wear my dress.”
“The wind might blow your dress over your head, then everyone will see your knickers.”
“No they won’t.” Long pause and that look they give you that makes you feel like an idiot. “I’m not wearing any.”

And here she is at the beach – in a full complement of clothes.

  1. Oh, so funny, they say children are the best comedians. I could imagine Les Dawson telling those well. So cute as well. They must give you tons of laughs... great giggle. xx

    1. I should have just read the sweet wrapper, Wendy - but it was that crinkly see through stuff and impossible to read. Whenever I try to pull their legs it usually backfires :-) x

  3. Oh, that so reminds me of my daughter at about the same age. She was complaining that when she did handstands, the boys at school laughed, because they could see her knickers. "What did you do?" I asked her. "I took them off, of course," was the reply.

    A lovely post.

  8. Wonderful, Teresa! As well as entertaining for us, it's worthwhile noting all the lovely things they say to tell them when they're older. xxx

  9. The innocence of children. Our 6 year old granddaughter is equally amusing. I guess your hubby loves to wind her up to provoke such amusing responses. Loved the post.

    1. You guess right, Maggie - he is always winding them up and their other grandad is just the same, but I think it's in their job description :-) x
