We’ve now had Harley for one
week and it feels like she’s been here forever. She’s slotted in so nicely.
The only time Fizz grumbles
at her now is if she nips in and pinches one of her treats. They sleep together
– well not touching, but almost.
During the past week Fizz has
been on hunger strike, refused to speak to anyone, eaten twice as much as
normal and curled up with her nose in the corner looking sad - most of that over a period of two days!
Now she’s back to her normal
self I’m glad to say!
Isn't it lovely to see
all the Christmas lights going up, cheering the dark evenings?
Happy December!
You've got a happy little band of pets now Teresa, you only need a budgie to complete the set:0) We've got net lights, and they make the front room look cosy. Keep warm, talk soon.xx
ReplyDeleteWe've got those net lights too, Suzy! I wasn't going to put them up in case I caught any kitties in them, then I thought I can always take them down again if there's a problem :-) x
DeleteSo pleased Harley has settled in and Fizz has adapted. It's amazing how quickly it happens, Teresa.
ReplyDeleteIt has happened faster than I expected, Wendy! Indy is still Fizz's best mate though :-) x
DeleteSuch good news that Harley has settled so quickly and Fizz is just about there. I'm sure they'll end up the best of friends. Gorgeous photo :o) xx
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing rustling, then seeing two bright eyes looking at me from the depths of the Christmas tree! And goodness knows how many baubles she's taken under the sofa, Sue! Definitely made herself at home :-) x
DeleteHappy December to you too! I'm just off xmas shopping - again! So glad your new additions is settling in nicely.
ReplyDeleteI think I may have finished most of mine now, Pat - well as long as my deliveries arrive. Good luck with yours :-) x
DeleteAw, that's so sweet, Teresa! I love this month, even the early dark afternoons.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I prefer December to November! And by the end of this month the nights will start pulling out again (like you my kids all love the dark afternoons - I don't know where they get it from!) :-) x
DeleteI'm so glad to see them becoming close friends, Teresa. They must be having a lot of fun with the tree. I'm still finding hidden baubles from last year. Holly likes carrying treasures in her mouth as if they're mice she's hunted and then hiding them in corners.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is definitely lighting up the world and bringing its special warm atmosphere again. We found Holly two Christmases ago and would love a little friend for her. Seeing Harley and Fizz bonding so well is very encouraging. We also have two older cats, Muffin and Brian, who were a bit grumpy about Holly (in fact Muffin was scared of her) but they soon learnt to tolerate her and now she bosses them around! xxx
What gorgeous names your cats have, Joanna! I toyed with changing Harley's name to Holly, but Harley seems to have stuck now and no one knows what her original name was.
DeleteHolly lives up to her name doesn't she - very Christmassey, hiding away the baubles. Your cat family sounds very happy, but they do say three's a crowd, so maybe a fourth one would be a good idea :-) x
Aww...Harley is adorable. I'm glad she's won Fizz over. I'm sure they will be great friends now.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly enjoy playing together, Rena, which is lovely :-) x
DeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteIt's all pawsitive, as Penny would say. Encouraging to know that Fizz and Harley are getting along so well :) Oh yes, thanks for the reminder. Where did I put my Christmas lights....
Penny, look away now.
Gary :) x
Don't look, Penny! If it's any consolation, I think Fizz thinks she's part dog :-) x
DeleteSo pleased that they love each other, now! Caroline x
ReplyDeleteMe too, Caroline - such a relief :-) x
DeleteThey're both gorgeous. xx
ReplyDeleteThey are, Suz :-) And such different personalities. I have never had a cat like Fizz before - she watches Harley playing with the toys as if to say "What on earth is she doing?" :-) x
DeleteYou have a new kitty?!?! Awwwwww how adorable! Glad Fizz is adopting as well as expected (after a shaky start!)! Yay!! Hello lovely Harley! Take care
ReplyDeletex
I think it's your fault, Kitty - all those lovely pictures of Charlie and Gumtree made me cat broody ;-) x
DeleteI'm so glad that Harley is settling in well and Fizz is slowly getting used to having Harley around. :)
ReplyDeleteThey both slept on my bed all night last night which is a first - usually it's one or t'other :-) x
DeleteAh, welcome to Harley! I have only just caught up with your blog Teresa. We plan to find another dog after Christmas - Flossie really needs another friend now Keano has gone. :-)
ReplyDeleteI knew you would :-) I wish we'd got a friend for Indy after we lost Tilly, but I left it too long and now he's too frail to cope with another dog - mind you, he loves the kittens, so it worked out okay. I can't wait to see pictures of your new addition :-) x
DeleteWill definitely be posting pictures of the, as yet, unknown newcomer. Oh, I meant to tell you, I also got an offer of publication for the story I sent off to My Weekly last January. I'd all but forgotten about it. They had overlooked it by accident, Liz Smith said. I think my mother still has the copies I was published in fifteen years ago so she can add this to her collection and I might just write a few more. Nice to be appreciated isn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant about the story :-) And lovely that your mum appreciates you. My mum used to keep the magazines I was in. Yes, do write some more :-) x
DeleteGlad Harley will be with you for Christmas - have a happy one!
ReplyDeleteTHank you, Jenny - hope you have a lovely Christmas :-) x
