Breezing in!

That’s me – just breezing in with nothing particular to say, but to point you in the direction of some interesting posts.

First of all there’s Paula’s posting where she includes a short film by Jane Wenham-Jones which is very worth watching – and the first in a series. See it here.

And over at Rena’s blog there is writing news and Rena is giving away her novel, “Danger at Mellin Cove” free on Kindle up to and including 26th August. Be quick! You can get it here.

I always enjoy Maria’s posts at Gaelikaa’s Diary about her life in India. I’m amazed she hasn’t been snapped up by a magazine to write a regular column. You can read her latest post here about the Hindu festival, Raksha Bandhan. Fascinating!

As for me, I found out this week that my little grandkidlets aren’t going back to school as early as I thought – we have two extra days and I am ridiculously pleased about that (I suspect even more pleased than they are).

Meanwhile, Indy is teaching Fizz the Ways of the Cadge.

Copy me, Grasshopper. Just sit and gaze hungrily in her general direction.

Did they get treats? What do you think?

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend!

  1. Thank you for the links, Teresa. The Wannabe a Writer film is a great insight. I wouldn't dare do it myself though. Lovely study of the Indy and Fizz too. X

    1. They get violent if I don't give in, Kitty - he beats me up with his paw while she claws my legs. Don't be fooled by the sweet faces - they're a right pair of gangsters ;-) x

    1. I think Indy thinks I am a treat dispenser and if he presses me enough times with his paw a treat (usually small piece of dried chicken) will magically appear - probably my own fault ;-) x

  5. Hello, Indy and Fizz
    Tim 'n' Ted here.
Indy, we're so glad you're teaching Fizz the important things in life.
    Keep it up.

    1. Hello Tim 'n' Ted! Indy says he is working hard to bring Fizz up to be a proper dog, but he hasn't been able to teach her to bark yet ;-) Waggytails and purrs :-) x

  8. That Indy's got it all worked out, hasn't he, Teresa? His little friend doesn't look to be very far behind, either. How lucky they are to live in your house. And thank you again for the plug for my free download of Danger at Mellin Cove. Much appreciated. Rx
P.S. Google's not liking me these days. This is my third attempt at posting a comment. Is anyone else having these problems?

I have had a an awful job lately commenting on other blogs and sometimes I've just had to give up. And it's not even the dreaded captcha thing to blame. Thank you for persisting :-) x

  12. Hi Teresa,

I'm very sorry it has taken this long to get back over to your blog. I'm frantically looking for a clone. Penny has helped, but these days, we're struggling to keep up. A mixed blessing, me thinks.

I have noted your links. If time permits, I'll check them out. A little extra time for the grandkidlets to be out of school. I'm getting confused with that. Over in North America, they would go back the first Tuesday in September. Yet, I saw mention that they are back in school. Sorry, rambled.

Penny says hi to Indy and Fizz :)

    Tuesday, already. Yikes!

    Gary :) x

    1. The kids are back at school in Scotland. Round here they go back on Wednesday.

I don't know how you and Penny manage to keep up with so many blogs - I think a clone would help ;-) x

  13. Looked out of my window this morning, and saw the neighbours taking their daughter to school for the first time. Bless her, she looked so sweet in her uniform, skipping along, with a smile on her face. Reminded me so much of my own daughter. How quickly time passes.

  14. I like this time of year, the kids going back to school always feels good because it gets them back into a routine which I think they enjoy (although they might grumble about it!) It also seems to signal the run up to Christmas which I love.

  19. I always used to wonder why other parents couldn't wait for their children to go back to school - me I loved having them at home (well, most of the time!) The bit I most remember about sending them back, was buying five pairs of school shoes - what a feat (pardon the pun, couldn't resist). As for treats for dogs and cats, Flossie now has her dinner earlier to help her digestion (too many early morning barks for the garden of late) She now has it about 5.30pm. Unfortunately, she is getting a little over excited and begs for her dinner earlier and earlier. It was 3 o'clock yesterday! I admit to giving her a treat instead. Glad to hear that Indy and Fizz got their treats - Oliver Twist comes to mind :-)

    1. Oh those school shoe buying trips - what a nightmare they were! I have always had to feed Indy twice a day because of his EPI but he still wants his dinner (and sometimes his breakfast - aargh) early :-) (They aren't as polite as Oliver Twist) x
