Leap Year

One of my favourite short story writers, Marilyn Fountain, has written a People’s Friend pocket novel Leap Year. It’s in the shops now. Get one if you can – I guarantee you’ll enjoy it.

Isn't that a lovely cover?

Back in the days before I actually knew any other writers, I used to look out for Lyn's stories because I knew they would always be a good read and nothing has changed. I am so pleased she's started writing longer stuff - more to enjoy!

  1. I'll look out for that one Teresa. I have been away from blogland for a little while because I've been organising (typing) our writers' group anthology. I'm so pleased with it I've decided to put some of my own work together. I have found a brilliant and very reasonably priced printer (who did my Christmas card). It's my way of self publishing without having to do it online, as it's just a personal record of some of my writing.

  2. I shall look out for that when I go shopping tomorrow. By the way Teresa, I received a copy of Woman's weekly Fiction special yesterday(as I have a story in it) and have just read Going Away for Christmas - it was so moving as it reminded me of my father in law.

  3. I can see it's going to be an expensive week with PF Special, FF, WW Fiction Special to buy as well as the weekly PF and WW and now the Pocket Novel, too.
    I agree, Teresa, it's a lovely cover.

  8. Confession time ... before I started writing myself I didn't take much notice of the author's names when I read short stories however much I enjoyed them.

Once I did take notice they all seemed to have been written by Teresa Ashby.

    1. I used to know someone who kept a record of all the stories in every magazine and who wrote them - it wasn't me I hasten to add :-) x

  9. :-) I'm like Patsy... I'm in the Teresa Ashby fan club and thought there was only one author of gentle reads.

I love the cover it's beautiful.

One day I shall get around to finishing my pocket novel and... OMG that where I should be now. Sorry, Teresa, Must dash I have a novel to finish! I'll finish my cuppa on the run and chat later. It's a good job I bring my own cup with me when I drop by for a chat otherwise there wouldn't be any left for others :-)

  10. Hi
I feel guilty I do not' speak' to more people but I can't keep up. consequently it makes me appear rude. But I follow many many people. You are popular, well done. Have you considered Kindle. The technology is way beyond me but with help I managed. good luck.

  11. Thanks for telling us about Marilyn's Pocket Novel. I used to go to Norwich Writer's Circle where Lynn was always so encouraging and kind. That was in pre-children days so I haven't seen her for some years.

  12. I echo Ken's comment, I feel guilty not getting around more blogs. I'll check Tesco tomorrow for Marilyn's pocket novel. Does she have a blog? :-)

  14. Lyn has tried to post a comment, but Blogger typically is playing up, but she says :

"Hi, thanks for all the positive comments; Teresa has some lovely followers:-)

Hi to Kate J - so it is you from the NWC: no, I never seem to get time to go to any meetings either. Perhaps we should break out the gladrags and go to the summer party!

I must start a blog, Maria - before they go completely out of fashion!

Thanks, Teresa, for letting me muscle in on yours. Love to all, and happy writing. Lyn x"

You're welcome any time Lyn :-) xx

  15. Hi Teresa,

That is indeed a lovely cover. It has an ambience of a cute romance thriller. "Leap Year" a great time for rabbits, frogs, toads, wallabies and kangaroos....:)

    Be well, Teresa.
