I’ve finally finished dithering and put a dozen short stories on Kindle.
The collection is called A Friend Like Aunt Buffy & Other Stories and includes published and unpublished material.
With it coming up to Mother's Day and as she was the first person that really encouraged me with my writing, I’ve dedicated the book to my late mother – and it is somehow fitting that my lovely cover girls were both named after her in some way.
Well done, Teresa. I'm sure your mum would appreciate the dedication.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cover. Good luck with your book.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martin - I think you're right, she would :-) x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jarmara x
What a lovely idea, Teresa - that is such a beautiful, delicate cover. Look forward to reading them.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful idea and a perfect cover. Your Mum would feel so proud and so thrilled with the dedication. It's a lovely thought for Mother's Day. I shall look forward to reading your stories, as always.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the cover! There's something about the absorbtion of small children when they're playing. Very good luck with the book, Teresa.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely, Teresa!

Hi Teresa
ReplyDeleteHow clever of you to publish on Kindle and what a lovely tribute to your mum.
However, you have made me break my lent as I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any new books (my biggest shopping weakness) until after Easter, but have now just downloaded your book. I'm hoping to go on holiday soon so I'm saving it as a treat. By the way I have just finished reading Take a Break's Fiction Feast (March), both your stories were fab but the one about Dad's shed, really brought a tear to my eye.
Linda M
Thank you, Rosemary x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanna x
Thank you,Frances - I think most of my favourite photos are like this where the children aren't aware they're being photographed x
Thank you, Pat x
That's so kind, Linda, thank you. I hope you enjoy the stories - but most of all I hope you enjoy your holiday x
Well done, Teresa! I shall buy your stories when I get my Kindle fired up (I'd thought the battery rarely ran out - I was wrong).
ReplyDelete92p. Now that's what I call a bargain. I shall download it pronto. Caroline x p.s lovely that you dedicated it to your mum too. p.p.s was it difficult to "do it" on kindle - or has someone else done it for you? p.p.p.s sorry for being nosy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny :-) x
ReplyDeleteCaroline, thank you! It wasn't difficult once I knew what I was doing ;-) Do you think I should write a blog about it? I'll try to do that when I've got time x
Thanks Teresa. A blogpost would be fab!
ReplyDeleteThat's a future post sorted, Caroline :-) Thanks for giving me the idea x
ReplyDeleteFabulous tribute...best wishes with Kindle sales. I shall be mooching on over to the store later this evening.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria :-) x
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your stories being published Teresa, your mum would be thrilled. Also will pick up that magazine with your stories in, I've missed reading them.xx

ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria, that is so kind of you :-) x
BooHoo I haven't got a KINDLE! The very best wishes for your great success Teresa, what a beautiful cover and a lovely idea to dedicate it to your Mum. She would be very proud of you :o) xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea, Teresa. Your mum would have been very proud of you. I shall download a copy and look forward to reading the stories. x
ReplyDeleteA lovely idea - beautiful cover too.
ReplyDeleteLovely cover and I'd love to read it, but I don't have a Kindle or any other kind of e-reader. I love the weight of a new book, the smell, the cutting of the page edges that didn't quite get done, the turning of a page. I know I'm old-fashioned, but there I am. That's probably why my favourite song in my whole life so far is Lynryrd Skybyrd's 'Freebird'. *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteLynryd Skynrd I meant! Blame it on Beloved, he bought me 2 bottles of white wine earlier, because he knew I needed them. Only one bottle gone, so far.
ReplyDeleteAh bless you, Sue x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annieye x
Thanks, Patsy x
I agree, Jacula - my beloved has a Kindle and occasionally I get him to download something for me, but I still prefer the real thing x
What a wonderful tribute to your mother. I love that cover picture too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debs :-) x
ReplyDeleteGreat news,Teresa! My own collection "For A Smile" is currently No 4 in Amazon's Women's Short Stories Bestsellers Chart but I see I am about to be usurped, lol!
ReplyDeleteYour Mum would be inordinately proud of this as with everything else you have had published, I am certain.
Lots and lots of luck with this new anthology!
And Jacula: if you really want to read something that is pubbed on Kindle you can download a free app for your PC from the Amazon site.
Happy Mothers' Day, Teresa.x :)

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jenny - I hope you enjoy it x
Lydia - thank you for the info. I shall download an app (if my computer engineer/aka Son agrees to it.)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Jacula. I've got Kindle on my PC x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea. I'll be downloading a copy onto my PC :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen :-) x
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely idea, Teresa.
ReplyDeleteAnd, for purely selfish reasons (ie I want to read them), I'm so pleased you've published a collection of short stories. I hope there are many more collections to come.
