I've Been Kindling Again!

I’ve finally finished dithering and put a dozen short stories on Kindle.

The collection is called A Friend Like Aunt Buffy & Other Stories and includes published and unpublished material.

With it coming up to Mother's Day and as she was the first person that really encouraged me with my writing, I’ve dedicated the book to my late mother – and it is somehow fitting that my lovely cover girls were both named after her in some way.

  1. Well done, Teresa. I'm sure your mum would appreciate the dedication.

  7. Hi Teresa

How clever of you to publish on Kindle and what a lovely tribute to your mum.

However, you have made me break my lent as I promised myself I wasn't going to buy any new books (my biggest shopping weakness) until after Easter, but have now just downloaded your book. I'm hoping to go on holiday soon so I'm saving it as a treat. By the way I have just finished reading Take a Break's Fiction Feast (March), both your stories were fab but the one about Dad's shed, really brought a tear to my eye.

Thank you,Frances - I think most of my favourite photos are like this where the children aren't aware they're being photographed x

    Thank you, Pat x

That's so kind, Linda, thank you. I hope you enjoy the stories - but most of all I hope you enjoy your holiday x

  21. Lovely cover and I'd love to read it, but I don't have a Kindle or any other kind of e-reader. I love the weight of a new book, the smell, the cutting of the page edges that didn't quite get done, the turning of a page. I know I'm old-fashioned, but there I am. That's probably why my favourite song in my whole life so far is Lynryrd Skybyrd's 'Freebird'. *shrugs*

  22. Lynryd Skynrd I meant! Blame it on Beloved, he bought me 2 bottles of white wine earlier, because he knew I needed them. Only one bottle gone, so far.

    Thanks, Patsy x

I agree, Jacula - my beloved has a Kindle and occasionally I get him to download something for me, but I still prefer the real thing x

  25. Great news,Teresa! My own collection "For A Smile" is currently No 4 in Amazon's Women's Short Stories Bestsellers Chart but I see I am about to be usurped, lol!
Your Mum would be inordinately proud of this as with everything else you have had published, I am certain.
Lots and lots of luck with this new anthology!
And Jacula: if you really want to read something that is pubbed on Kindle you can download a free app for your PC from the Amazon site.
    Happy Mothers' Day, Teresa.x :)

  31. This is a lovely idea, Teresa.

And, for purely selfish reasons (ie I want to read them), I'm so pleased you've published a collection of short stories. I hope there are many more collections to come.
