Is it safe to come out?

I’m glad November has gone. It is my least favourite month of the year for a number of reasons. I dread its arrival every year and breathe a sigh of relief when it’s over.

The Norovirus reared its ugly head and felled us like trees. Only one adult (out of eight in the immediate family) escaped unscathed – and it wasn’t me. It seems that bleaching everything in sight and taking every precaution you can just doesn’t help sometimes.

As well as the stomach virus, there are sore throats and chickenpox doing the rounds at school. I’ve still got one home poorly.

And goodness knows what’s happened to Blogger! I have to rummage around now to find the blogs I’m following. Please tell me it’s not just me!

On the plus side I’ve been to visit Santa twice (with different grandchildren). The highlight was meeting the reindeer. They are so friendly and love being made a fuss of, but they have room to get away if they want to which I think is important. Visitors are only allowed to meet them one family at a time and are supervised. My eldest grandson who is 11 came in as an adult, but he still enjoyed meeting the reindeer.

We’re off to visit my youngest son and his family at the weekend and are hoping see Santa with my granddaughters.

Dusty says he doesn’t know what all the fuss is about.

  1. Sorry you and the family have been poorly - hope that means you've got all that sort of thing out the way for the rest of the winter.

Reindeer are lovely, aren't they? I'm glad the ones you saw weren't overwhelemed with visitors. I should think crowds of execited children could be a bit scary if they aren't used to people (or even if they are!).

  3. So glad you're recovering, Teresa, and so sorry you've all suffered. December will be much better. The reindeer are gorgeous. There are some at the farm shop where my middle daughter works and they are so popular and much loved. xxx

    1. Thank you, Joanna. Your daughter is lucky - as is one of my daughters in law who works with the reindeer so gets to see them every day. It's just lovely isn't it xx

  4. Glad to see you back Teresa and sorry you have been poorly. Only three more weeks and we can look forward to Spring. I must look out for the reindeer round here. They usually make an appearance at one of the garden centres before Santa whisks them away.

    1. Thanks, Maggie. Once we're in December I start looking forward to the turn of the year and the days starting to get longer again as we head towards Spring. I hope you get to see the reindeer before Santa whisks them off!

  7. It's not just you. My list of Blogs I Follow disappeared months ago but the reading list is still in my profile when I log in.
Hope you're feeling better now, Teresa. Grandkids are a great pick-me-up.

    1. I hate to admit it, Keith, but it took me ages to find my reading list on the new dashboard layout! I blame Christmas :-) I agree wholeheartedly about the grandkids being a pick-me-up!
