October Giggle Blog

Imogen, 7, has written the book of her life in cartoon form. Pages and pages of her hopes and dreams.

On one page she pointed to a picture hanging on the wall. “That’s you, Grandma,” she said. “I have given you short curly hair because I always draw old ladies with short curly hair.”

I was just very flattered that in her future life when she is a grown up, she’s going to have my picture hanging on her wall.

There are several pools at the beach which are nice for paddling in, but there is one which is very deep. I have no idea how deep, but Poppy refuses to go in it at all. Dusty on the other hand, can’t wait to leap in.

Hm, a bottomless pool, what might a writer do with that?

Apologies to anyone who clicked on an earlier link to this post and found it gone! I'd downloaded the video and it had come out sideways. I didn't want visitors to go away with a crick in the neck, so had to get that sorted out (with help from hubby - well okay, actually he sorted it out completely).

Don't forget to check out the other October giggles from Susan and Lynne (and Sue!)

Happy October!

    1. It was very detailed, Kate and included the children she was going to have. At her age I wanted to be a nun! :-) x

  3. May Imogen's hopes and dreams all come true. I wrote mine around that age and mine came true - with a bit of hard work. And I love the bottomless pool. Perhaps the same one is somewhere in Australia.

    1. I think it's one of the nicest things we can wish for them isn't it, that their dreams come true? I was going to say it would be a nice shortcut to Australia, but I don't think I could hold my breath that long :-) x

  4. What better mentor could Imogen have. How proud you must be. That pool looks very scary.

    1. Maggie, I was terrified when he first went in. I wouldn't let him anywhere near it after I realised how deep it was, but after I saw other dogs swimming around having fun, I thought I couldn't deny him any longer. It's handy when the tide is out to wash off some of the sand :-) x

  5. That's an excellent start to a writing career for Imogen - my own daughter did that kind of thing at six or seven and hasn't stopped! Love the idea of the bottomless pool.

  7. I like the sound of Imogen's book - although by her reasoning you should surely have been drawn with Rapunzel-like hair?

  9. How lovely she is, and quite grown up as well. She must have seen how happy you are, writing, and is following in your footsteps, Teresa. She even has the same smile as you. I get the feeling Dusty would do that all day long. And he has grown such a lot. Glad hubby put him the right way up, or we'd all be going round with funny heads. No comments on that please:)))) Thanks for the link as well. xx

    1. I must admit I had short curly (permed) hair when I was much younger, so that is a good point :-) x

  12. Lovely hearing about Imogen's cartoon book. :)

That deep pool also looks very cold, but I'm sure Dusty doesn't mind.
