I spent last weekend updating
some of the book covers for my Kindle books. I was in that sort of a mood.
Then I played around with
extra pages for my blog. There are now tabs at the top with links to the books
I’ve put on Kindle. I added a little info about each one because you know me, I
do tend to go on a bit. I had fun doing it though and it wasn’t at all
difficult.
I’m thinking of adding more
pages eventually, but not sure what to use them for! Any ideas?
I think all of the above is
otherwise known as procrastination. It is something that seems to afflict a lot
of writers and you can read about the science behind it and a possible solution
here.
Must admit I like the time
travel aspect – if only we could do that for real!
Now to get on with some
writing… But wait, isn’t there a drawer somewhere that needs sorting out?
Oops, how did Dusty and Poppy slip
in there?
I've been doing lots of procrastination too. I think maybe it's actually in the small print of a writer's job description that we have to.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right - it seems to be compulsory! x
DeleteI love the photo and your new pages! It's good sometimes to have a little space for change x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon - I'm planning to move the bedroom round next, but I haven't told Himself yet :-) x
DeleteSo I was going to rejig a story ready to send out there and guess what. I saw your new post!! So I've procrastinated haven't I? And very enjoyable it was too!! Very interesting post, Teresa. Comforting to know that mostly we are all the same and reasons why. I've now time travelled to the future to see how good I'll feel when my story is all ready to post off tomorrow! Ooh just got a notification something's gone on FB .........:o) xx
ReplyDeletePS Love the new pages - and gorgeous photo x
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you procrastinated your way here, Sue :-) Now go and get on with that story :-) x
ReplyDeleteHey Teresa,
ReplyDeleteI was contemplating leaving comment. Maybe tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day.....
Gary :) x
Hi Gary - I've been thinking about replying - I'll get round to it :-) x
DeleteI've just finished writing the first 339 words of a new story but have to admit that this time of year (gardening season) is procrastinating time.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you're not in the garden you'll be cooking up some of your lovely recipes :-) x
DeleteThankyou for the extra pages Teresa. That's more procrastinating for me then.
ReplyDeleteNow I'm spending (wasting) too much time trying to think of subjects for new pages, Maggie :-) x
DeleteI'm sure that procrastinating is an essential part of the writing process. I might just spend a little more time pondering that...
ReplyDeleteI love your extra pages, Teresa. This is such a lovely blog and it's fantastic to have a showcase of all your beautiful stories and their covers. I especially love the cover of The Painting. I could happily lose myself in that perfect landscape. xx
Thank you, Joanna. Yes I love that picture for the Painting - the light was so perfect that day. It would make a nice picture to hang on the wall! x
DeleteHmmm... a neighbour asked me today if I was vacuuming the balcony because there was something else I should be doing! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny Jenny. I have to put my hands up to doing things like that.
DeleteLol Jenny :-) x
DeleteI love reorganising things every now and then and it's a very good idea to have those extra pages! The heat is probably having an adverse effect on some of us - or maybe that's just me. (Hope you don't mind me mentioning that your 'blog list' seems to be repeated on the side!)
ReplyDeleteOh dear - I think the heat must really be getting to me, Rosemary! I hadn't noticed - thank you for pointing it out (of course I don't mind - I'm glad you told me!). What's more they're both different! Off to sort that out right now, thank you :-) x
DeleteCan't beat a bit of procrastination.
ReplyDeleteIt's far too easy to master isn't it :-) x
DeleteInteresting to see that you,e put tabs up- it's something I want to do on mine.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to do it for a long time - I wish I'd done it sooner :-) x
DeleteI could win prizes for procrastination Teresa, but console myself that it all somehow helps with the writing process in the long run. Not quite sure how, though!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right, Karen. While we're busy procrastinating, our writing minds are busy working - at least that's what I keep telling myself :-) x
