Sung by Ella Fitzgerald and
Louis Armstrong, this has to be one of my favourite songs of all time. Never fails to make my skin tingle however many times I listen to it. And it is a
perfect song for a heatwave.
Also perfect for hot weather,
for the rest of the summer my novellas, Buckets and Spades
will be at the special price
of 77p each on Amazon. They will also be at the lowest set price in all other
countries.
Fizz says It’s too darned
hot for dogs like me! Yes, that's right, when she isn't being Shere Khan, she thinks she's a springer spaniel.
We love this picture of Fizz, Teresa! I'm not sure it's possible to look any more contented than this!
ReplyDeleteI love novellas and will really look forward to reading these over the weekend. xx
And I meant to say I'm so enjoying listening to Summertime. One of my favourites too.x
ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful song isn't it, Joanna.
DeleteI took the photo of Fizz with my phone as I didn't have my camera handy, so it didn't come out too well, but I think it captures her mellow mood :-) x
She's living easy alright Teresa. Oh, that was a relaxing moment. I'd just made a cup of tea, and a cake; Alan thought I'd popped to the Ritz... Felt like it. Thanks for the book bargains. Off to have a look now.xx
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your pop to the Ritz ;-) x
DeleteI shall download and look forward to reading them x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendy :-) x
DeletePhew - the heatwave continues! Have you seen that TV ad with the cat that has decided to be a dog? It leaps into a swimming pool - I can hardly bear to watch!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have, Joanne! I used to have a cat that loved being out in the rain - never saw him swim though :-) Indy has taught Fizz to sit and pat me with her paw when she wants treats, which is just about whenever her eyes are open :-) x
DeleteThat's one contented pusscat Teresa! Summertime is just that, isn't it, Summertime. Thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteOff to see about those Novellas :o) xx
I was watching fish jumping this afternoon, Sue and that song was in my head :-) x
DeleteI love your book covers, Tereesa, especially the child on the beach. Dd you take them?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Frances - I do my own covers and I'm never completely happy with them, but I do quite like those two. The child on the beach is Isabel, one of my granddaughters :-)
DeleteGreetings human Teresa,
ReplyDeleteAh, as of now, Saturday evening, it has begun to rain 'oop' north! :)
"Summertime and the livin' is easy..." Such a haunting, beautiful song. That dude in the video sure has a raspy voice :)
It looks like Fizz is thinking how thrilled she is to be a fan of mine. And during the heat, couldn't we use a 'fan'!
Come "Hell and High Water", you have enthusiasm in "Buckets & Spades". I wish you well with this and I shall take the liberty to share your posting. Even on um 'Farcebark' :)
A pawsitive weekend to you and all,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar! :) x
Fizz certainly is a fan, Penny - Indy has told her all about you!
DeleteWe got the rain about 9pm.
Thank you for sharing us on Farcebark - Happy Weekend to you :-) x
Lovely song - and lovely cooling book covers.
ReplyDeleteI think even the mere sight of water is cooling isn't it, Patsy :-) x
DeleteI love 'Summertime' too, the singers and the lyrics are so expressive.
ReplyDeleteFizz is clearly a very contented cat. :)
Really like the cool water covers.
Sadly it is now raining quite heavily in the East Midlands, but at least it's a little cooler now.
We got heavy rain yesterday evening! Unfortunately I'd left my bedroom window open - oops! :-) x
DeleteOh Teresa your kitty is adorable :). I checked your novellas on Amazon, they look amazing...good luck with them :).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Petronela :-) x
DeleteWow, your novellas look fabulous, Teresa! Bless Fizz, thinking she's a spaniel! Holly thinks she's a little pony and prances around like one, and Ruby thinks she's a parrot and sits on my shoulder. :-) XX
ReplyDeleteAw, love the thought of Holly pony and Ruby on your shoulder Mandy :-) x
DeleteOh, that's one of my favourite songs, too, Teresa - and I've even sung it (not very well) a couple of times!
ReplyDeleteGreat covers, as always. And what a little cutie Fizz is!
I bet you sing it beautifully, Rosemary :-) x
DeleteOne of the bestest summer songs ever - and Ms Ella is totally sublime - as is Louis!! Awww Fizz!!! Enjoy the summer!! Thank you so much for your stories lovely Teresa!!!! yay!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Thank you, Kitty :-) x
DeleteIt's been much cooler here today, which is a bit of a relief, but it's supposed to hit 28 degrees again on Thursday.
ReplyDelete'We Have All The Time in the World' by Louis Armstrong was in the charts when my daughter was born in '94 and I still can't hear it without welling up!
Love that picture, such a gorgeous cat. I look forward to reading your novellas this summer.
That's another beautiful song, Debs and even better when you can associate it with special memories.
DeleteI can't say I'm looking forward to it being hot on Thursday - I'll probably be on the M25 for some of it! :-) x
Hi Teresa, with my enforced rest I wait for the weather to do whatever it likes. Thank heavens for friends and daughters who have given me lifts to the outside world this week since I am not yet allowed to drive, or I might have gone mad! Loved your clip, I am now completely chilled.I shall go get your books - plenty of reading time for me :-) Debbie X
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie - I was so sad to read your news on your blog.
DeleteI hope you are feeling better and soon able to drive, but it sounds as if you're being well looked after by your friends and daughters :-)
The one plus of not being able to do a great deal is having time to read - hope you enjoy lots of lovely books :-) x
I adore that song.
ReplyDeleteAnd also have a cat who thinks she's a dog. :-D
She's even started pinching his food - sigh! He's allowed to return the favour :-) x
DeleteI love that song too, Teresa!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful isn't it and no one does it like those two :-) x
DeleteSummertime, my fave song! My daughter played it on the clarinet when she was young, and I used to ask her to play it over, and over. On her wedding day she surprised me by having it as the music to walk down the aisle with, on her dad's arm. It back memories of her as a little girl ... there were tears. LOL.
ReplyDeleteGlad Dovercourt is enjoying the summer I bought over from Cyprus! It is helping us settle back quite nicely. :D
Oh wow that is wonderful, Glynis - what a beautiful choice for her wedding.
DeleteIt certainly seemed that the sunshine arrived at the same moment you did, Glynis - and I am very grateful to you for bringing it home :-) x
