Fizz has had her first trip
to the vet and her first set of vaccinations.
She was very brave I must say
and didn’t make any fuss. In fact, she is a pretty steady young lady who
doesn’t like the vacuum cleaner much (who does?) but isn’t afraid of anything
else – except the catnip mouse which for some reason continues to terrify her.
Sometimes she sleeps on my
pillow and likes to wake me up in the early hours by kicking the back of my
head and eating my hair.
My legs are lacerated. I’m hoping
she soon learns about sheathing her claws – although so far she’s been mostly
gentle with everyone else, especially the Little People.
She likes watching telly and
has tried to jump into it a couple of times. Is she embarrassed after she
slithers down the screen and lands on the floor? No – she just goes round to
look behind it to see why she couldn’t jump into it. She likes to try and catch
the little blue light that goes round and round on the Sky box when we’re
watching something we’ve recorded.
And she can – and does - get
onto the dining table with ease.
She’s growing – I’m sure
she’s doubled in size - and she trots round behind Indy like a little shadow.
Bless her. She looks so small against Indy.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to forget how small she is, Paula - she has such a BIG attitude :-) x
DeleteI love earring about the fluffy ones. Teresa,
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to restrain myself from going on about them too much, Wendy :-) x
Deleteyou are invited to follow my blog
ReplyDeleteThank you for the invite!
DeleteI love watching her adorable progress!
ReplyDeleteIt's lucky for her she's adorable, Jenny - I can't imagine anyone else getting away with shredding my legs the way she has :-) x
DeleteWhat a brave girl not fussing at her injections. She has grown hasn't she. She is just so SWEET! :o) xx
ReplyDeleteI think she's a tiger cub in disguise, Sue :-) x

ReplyDeleteThe pets in our family have the reverse relationship to your little Fizz and Indy. Our puppy, Sam, is the younger one, and has great fun teasing and chasing Connie, our ever patient cat, all over the place. Even though he pesters the life out of her, they still seem to be great friends. x
It's lovely isn't it, Rena, how fond they get of each other :-) x
DeleteI think I must have missed something - for a few moments I thought you'd got a new dog! But I'm glad this new person is settling in so well.
ReplyDeleteWe would have got another dog, Frances, but Indy isn't keen. He told me he'd prefer a kitten :-) x
DeleteFizz and Indy are adorable, teresa. Thank you for the gorgeous pictures. I love how Fizz explores the TV! I would spend the entire day watching the two of them interact and play. x
ReplyDeleteYes, I could watch them all day too :-) x
DeleteShe's gorgeous, Teresa. Reminds me of when our cat had kittens and one of them liked nothing better than to shin up people's backs and sit on their shoulder. Glad Fizz and Indy get on so well together.
ReplyDeleteOoh kittens, Gail - it must have been lovely! I love walking into a house where there are baby animals. Please tell me she'll grow out of using me as a climbing frame :-) x
DeleteAwwww Fizz!! What a cutie!! And she is now Indy's Official Shadow! Yay! take care

She was curled up in his dinner bowl this morning - I got a photo. Poor old thing went to have his usual hopeful lick round it (he always goes back to it in case more food has miraculously appeared) and got a face full of fur :-) x
DeleteSo nice that they are such good company for each other. And for you Teresa.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely, Maggie - especially when she curls up round my neck and purrs :-) x
DeleteDid you let her watch that Horizon programme about the secret life of cats? Harvey was fascinated and got a bit barky. I was fascinated too!
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting wasn't it, especially about how often cats go into other people's home. I wasn't really surprised as I know a lot of strange cats used to come into our house when we had a cat door :-) x
DeleteShe's gorgeous, Teresa. And Indy's such a lovely big brother.
ReplyDeletexx
She's very lucky to have such a lovely big brother, Suz :-) x
DeleteLovely photos, Teresa! It's so nice to see Fizz and Indy together. Fizz is growing quickly.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed how fast she's growing, Sharon :-) x
DeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteAwe aren't they getting along well. Extra company for you and I hope your legs have recovered :)
"Gary! You have been evicted, you have thirty seconds to say your goodbyes...."
Gary :) x
My legs look like a piece of meat after someone's had a go with a meat tenderiser! Maybe that's what she is - a meat tenderiser, not a cat at all ;-) x
DeleteI feel for you and your legs! Izzy used to love climbing up the back of my legs. Especially when I was doing my hair, in the morning she'd climb to the very top and sit on my shoulder. Only problem was it was a bit tricky to finish my hair then. :-)

DeleteHi Teresa,
DeleteNo doubt about it. Fizz is adorable.
She's getting more adorable now she's learning not to use her claws :-) x
DeleteFizz is so cute!
ReplyDeleteShe has her moments, Misha :-) x
DeleteOh she's grown so much....and she seems so playful, I bet you adore her and have no intention of giving her up...I remember saying you planned to keep her for a friend :).
ReplyDeleteOh I do adore her, Petronela - she is so sweet in her sweet moments :-) x
DeleteThey look a lovely couple. I just read your story, 'A friend in need' this weeks P.F. That's lovely, and makes me know why you're my favourite short story writer.xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sue :-) x
DeleteJust popped over to give Fizz and Indy a great big wave and to go "awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"!!!! at them! Adorable! Take care
ReplyDeletex
Ooh Fizz is waving back, Kitty and she's got her claws tucked away - good girl :-) x
DeleteHi Teresa,
ReplyDeleteI love reading about this kitten....I can't imagine that her claws would be very sharp yet...would they?
Mx
Like razor blades, Maria! It was like being covered in paper cuts! She's getting more gentle, thank goodness! :-) x
