Who Are You?

I’ve just done this fun test to see what career would suit me. I enjoy doing this sort of thing and thought you might too.

Turns out I am, along with 1% of the population, an INFP – Questor. Careers that would suit me include: holistic health practitioner and writer. Whoo!

I could also be a minister/priest/rabbi – oh well.

Well that was fun while it lasted.

Any more INFPs out there? Did you do the test and find it accurate?

And while you’re in the mood for tests, how about this one on the BBC? 10 questions on grammar. I scored 8. I wasn’t happy with that!

I do love this time of year when/if it behaves itself!

  1. Now that really is spooky, Teresa, a lot of what it says about me is scarily accurate. I'm apparently an Administrator- I've even done the first job on the list of careers! :-)

As for the BBC grammar one. I dispute the brother/sister one as Hilary is typically a female name- at least where I was brought up- no matter what they put in the bit of text... :)

    1. It's interesting isn't it, Carol!

I tripped up on the Hilary one too :-) x

  2. I got 8 as well Teresa - though I still think the brother one was a bit dodgy.

And apparently one of my job choices should be housekeeper. I laughed so much I almost disturbed the dust...

    1. Giggle, Bernadette :-) You clearly love housekeeping as much as I do :-) x

  3. Hi Teresa,

What's this? What is this? Of course you would be excellent at making writing a career choice :) It turns out I should become a shepherd.

My grammar has left me with a dangling participle....That didn't sound right....

    Gary :) x

    1. Penny could be a sheep dog :-) Those dangling participles sound very uncomfortable ;-) x

  4. Hi Teresa,

Thanks for the fun quizzes. It turns out that I am an ENFJ, a pedagogue who would make an 'outstanding group leader'. Oddly enough, two of my past jobs have been in a group leading role. Some of the jobs listed as being suitable for me included: Corporate/Team Trainer (I have worked as both a team leader and a trainer in business),
Psychologist (I always thought that I'd like to have been a criminal profiler in another life),
Librarian (that is once what I wanted to be because I loved the idea of rubber-stamping the books and also being surrounded by them),
Writer/journalist (I was delighted to see that on the list, of course)
    and
Artist (I have worked as an illustrator in the past).

I got 7/10 in the grammar test and wasn't pleased with that at all! Neither would my old teachers have been, since I went to a grammar school. The brother question tripped me up, too.

    1. That's pretty amazing, Jacula :-)

I think Hilary tripped a lot of us up, or up Hilary tripped us or whatever ;-) x

  5. It turns out I am a teacher... surprise surprise. I'm not telling you my shameful mark I got on the BBC test - to console myself I did the guardian one and got 13/14 (so I felt better).

    1. Ooh I didn't know there was a guardian one, Wendy! Uncannily accurate career test though isn't it? :-) x

  6. Actually Teresa I've seen lots of women pastors on God TV over the last couple of years and some of them are absolutely wonderful. I have been a Catholic all my life, so noticing this trend has been amazing. It's a great calling.

    1. That's true, Maria, but I'm quite high on the introvert scale so I just couldn't see myself being any sort of minister :-) Mind you, I did want desperately to be a nun when I was a child! x

    2. So did I, Teresa LOL. I wanted to be a saint too.

    3. You'd have been a lovely nun, Maria :-) x

  8. I've already done the grammar one. I only got 7. Now I'm off to see what job would suit me ...

  9. I like these too, Teresa, though I'm just in and have an article to get off before tomorrow, so will need to leave it for now! Had a quick look and the first section only confirmed I'm a mixture of answers and therefore type - not a suprise. Will try and do it properly at some point.

  10. Oh dear, only 5 out of 10 for me! I'm ISFJ, which is just as well as I was a secretary and I do love housework, yes really. Good quizes Teresa, even if I have never heard of a gerund. So pleased I got the sat/sitting one right though - I squirm every time I hear it incorrectly used.

    1. I have to be in the mood for housework, Maggie and I'm seldom in the mood :-) Yes I got that sat/sitting one right too - and you often see it used incorrectly in newspapers these days. I don't mind if it's a character saying it as people do :-) x

  11. I enjoyed the quiz and also scored 8/10. Right, time to see what job I'm most suited to.

  12. Oh my god - I am an "Author"!

  13. Enjoyed doing the tests Teresa, thank you. I am "INFJ-Author" apparently. No surprises there really and the career options are spot on - glad to see novelist included. The grammar test: I scored 9/10 and was miffed not to get ten given my penchant for being picky when it comes to grammar! Hmmm must do better! I do think a couple of the questions were a bit tricky - the brother one (I think to be honest, I guessed it as I wasn't convinced). Oh well, who wants to be perfect?? :-)

    1. You have the same result as my oldest son - I believe that is the rarest group of all :-) And I would have been delighted to get 9/10 in that grammar test :-) x

  14. I love the way that when people first do Myers Briggs based tests they react to the results as if they are magic. I'm an ENTP, and have been every time I've done the test, or ones based on the same theory.
Instead of doing modified shortened tests off the web, it is better to do a full MBTI test with a qualified psychologist to interpret the results. There is a lot of depth in what this stuff reveals, but they are not totally foolproof and some people are very complex and don't fit into the sixteen simple boxes that the basic test produces. i'm married to a woman who has two psychology degrees and who is qualified to do this and many others. i've had them all done on me for practice.
I,m not touting for business, she, like me is retired.

    1. I suppose it does feel like magic when you answer a few simple questions and have such accurate results. Not so much with the career suggestions, but when you look further for personality traits.
It would be interesting though to go deeper :-) x

  15. I'll have a go at this, Teresa. I scored 8/10 in the BBC grammar test. Have to admit, some of the terms by-passed me.

  16. Grrr! 7/10 Floored by gerunds and things, Hilary the beastly brother, and one other can't remember now (I'm not going to learn by my mistakes am I!!)

I was ISFJ. Nurse or GP - I don't think so! I would have loved to be a librarian, I was a sort of middle manager I guess, and I was a secretary. Housekeeper - mmmmmmmmmmm!! On occasions I am very in the mood for housework but then on others.....Pretty accurate though.

Great fun Teresa - thanks for that :o) xx

  17. Where can I find the career test, please? Don't ask me about the grammar one. I gave up as soon as I'd got 3 wrong! Shame on me!

  18. http://www.careertest.net/ or click on "test" in the first line of this post. The link to the test is then at the bottom of the page you're taken to (or should be) :-) x

  19. 7/10 for the grammar test and I am an INFJ or "author" (yay!) - as in I should be a minister or a general practitioner or a therapist! LOL!!!

    Take care
