Dogs, Dogs, Dogs!

On Easter Monday we braved the cold and went to the All About Dogs Show at the Suffolk Showground.

Dogs were welcome, but we left Indy at home in the warm. He’s very particular about his walks now and, understandably, he gets nervous in unfamiliar surroundings and situations.

It was lovely – so many gorgeous dogs in all shapes and sizes. We stopped at the Retired Greyhounds Trust stand and I watched as my Beloved became completely besotted with a very pretty little brindle greyhound.

The show is well worth a visit and there are more coming up at Newbury, Newark and Norfolk, by which time perhaps the weather will be more pleasant.

Oh and I came home with a puppy. I won him on the Wood Green Shelter stall.

I don’t think Indy was impressed!

What on earth is it? I'm not posing with that!

Oh for goodness sake, all right then, if I must.

You might as well take it away because I am not, absolutely not, going to sleep with it!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

  1. Oh Indy! These are just the cutest photos of you! We didn't go to a dog show but we (plus the children and grandchildren) had a big Easter egg hunt in my mum's beautiful garden.

    1. I used to love Easter Egg hunts when my kids were little, Wendy :-) If I tried hiding them in the garden now, Indy would eat them :-) x

    1. Indy would agree! Although he can't see it, he says it smells funny and not at all like a proper dog :-) x

  7. Those are beautiful pictures, Teresa. I believe Indy is very taken with his new friend. He's a really life-like little puppy, absolutely gorgeous. How lucky Indy is to be brought such a lovely present. It looks as if they will become very attached. x

  8. I agree. They are fabulous pics and the new pup will soon smell of Indy. Whether or not that is a good thing, I'm too far away to tell! (Sorry, Indy!)

    1. Ah he smells lovely most of the time - and he doesn't roll in dead things any more, so there's never that to worry about :-) x

  9. Sounds like a great day out Teresa. My sister had a retired greyhound. Her son got him when he was four and not expected to live long. Her son moved away, my sister kept the dog - Charlie lived to the ripe old age of thirteen! They are gorgous dogs. As for Indy, he reminds me of my Keano with those cloudy eyes and that air of "if you must" about him LOL! Mind you, Keano would have chewed that puppy to pieces by now I am sure and if he didn't then Flossie surely would.

    1. Greyhounds are such lovely gentle dogs, aren't they.
It's sad when their eyes go cloudy isn't it. Indy's cataracts have progressed really fast, but in some lights you can hardly see them x

  12. I agree with Colette, Indy will be taking his new friend everywhere soon. Greyhounds make lovely pets I think. Not that I've got one, but I'd love one.

  14. Sounds like a great day, Teresa. I think you were right to leave the doggy at home, though. Besides, when you havae to look after a child or an animal, it tends to be a little stressful.

  15. Hey Indy and the human, Teresa,

Apologies for my late arrival to your posting. Hope it was worth the wait :) And you brought home a toy puppy. Indy does look totally thrilled about it all.

    Take care, I'm going now.
