Commenting - and Message for Suzy!

Humph! I am tearing my hair out at the moment - so many blogs out there I'm trying to leave comments on and Blogger won't let me! It won't even let me comment as Anonymous.

I am feeling quite miffed to put it mildly. It asks me to log in even though I am already logged in, then asks for the wordy thing which I put in and it takes me straight back to the log in page so I end up going round and round in circles.

Suzy, if you're reading this, thank you for tagging me and for what you said. I'll put my answers up in a day or two. I loved yours - and I loved your picture - they look like ballerinas!

  1. This happened to me on and off all day yesterday, Teresa. If you don't get this...no. that doesn't work. But you know what I mean. Very frustrating.

  2. PS Try unticking the "stay logged in" box. That seems to work.

  3. Thank you, Frances. I just tried to log out and it won't let me do that either - aaargh. But it is at least letting me make anonymous comments now - I think (well so it says in the box, but whether it will change its mind when I try to post this...)
Reassuring to know it isn't just me though.

  4. Me too Teresa!

Drives you up the wall doesn't it!

  5. PS it let me do that only after unticking the box as Frances suggested, so thanks Frances!

  6. Hello everyone... Just to let you know it's raining here and it's very heavy ! I'm so pleased. I can hear my garden drinking it up.

I'm so sorry you are having problems, Teresa.

  7. I'm having the same problems - so frustrating - what are they playing at. Mx

  8. ooo that worked - thank you Frances. Mx

  9. You too, Bernadette! I was beginning to think it was my computer playing silly buggers :-)

I reckon it'll be raining here soon too, Jarmara - I think I'm north of you. My garden is sitting here with its tongue hanging out looking hopeful (and slightly brown).

That's what I wonder, Morton - what are they playing at?

I have now unticked my box - so here goes!

  10. Yayyyy! Frances you are a GENIUS - thank you!

  11. I've just had a posting orgy for all the comments I've been unable to post this week!

  12. Wow! Me a genius for something computer-related! That really is a first. Do I get a prize?

And shouldn't we all be writing...?

  13. It's just taken me about ten minutes to get logged on. I kept getting a white screen reading 'Error 404'.
Really thought I'd lost the whole blog.
Eventually I clicked the link that says 'Trouble accessing your account' and got an email back telling me my login details - which I knew already - and lo and behold, the next time I tried, it worked. And here I am.

Is Blogger just getting too big to be able to cope?

  14. Me too, Morton, but I know I've missed loads!

You do deserve a prize, Frances!

Blogger certainly does seem to be out of sorts, Gail - I've a feeling I'm back to being anonymous again, but I don't mind as long as it lets me post!

    Teresa :-)

  15. Pesky Blogger gremlins. I had this problem a couple of days ago. Just to let you know, you're not alone.

  16. Blogger has been playing me up big timee too! There must be a gremlin in the system somewhere methinks! Caroline x

  17. Hi Teresa,
Glad you saw that you've been tagged. I've had the same problem, nothing worse than being 'annonymous.' What I did was to change my password, that works as well.

  18. I can comment OK, but people have told me they can't leave comments on my blog. Wonder if it's something connected with the earlier Blogger problems that hasn't been quite sorted yet?

    ReplyDelete
  19. People have been telling me that today too!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks, Martin that's good to know.

Definitely a gremlin somewhere, Caroline. I'm just glad it's not my computer.

I may try that, Suzy, thanks.

I tried to comment on yours with the big white eggy thing, Patsy and couldn't. And there are some blogs I can't even get to load.

THanks, Rosemary - it's a relief to know.

This is Anonymous again - me - Teresa!

  21. I've been getting "Error 404" too! Something to do with the supposedly wonderful "new" blogger, I think! Yes, really wonderful - as long as you don't want to post anything! I tried changing my password and that didn't work, so still posting as "Anon". Why do these people keep "improving" stuff: if it ain't broke, don't fix it, for goodness' sake! Lydia x

  22. Good to know it's not just me then! I am going in search of that 'stay logged in' box that Frances suggested - and see whether it is ticked!

    ReplyDelete
  23. It seems to be working fine now, Lydia! Fingers crossed it stays that way. Agree with you about all these "improvements" that just seem to make life more difficult!

To find mine I had to first log out, Diane - but at one point it wouldn't even let me do that. The box is ticked at the moment and... oh hang on I spoke too soon - it's let me make a couple of comments but it seems I am to be anonymous here again - aaaaaargh!

    Teresa - not anonymous :)

  24. For anyone still having problems, I tried deleting all cookies and temporary internet files in IE and it seems to have fixed it for me, at least for now!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I tried that, Bernardette and it worked for about 5 minutes! I give up.

    Teresa :)

  26. Please will someone tell me what a cookie is (and not the American cookies and milk kind; I understand those)?

Oh - and where have all the followers gone?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Frances, as I understand it, a cookie is a sort of tag that a website puts in your computer so it recognises you when you come back to it.

Not only have followers gone - I tried to follow a new blog today and it wouldn't let me. Sigh.
    Teresa.
